Development of the Daily Life Stress Response Inventory for a Middle-Aged Woman

Abstract

|
This study examined the development and validity of daily stress response scale for middle-aged woman. We surveyed 91 preliminary items for 406 middle-aged woman, from 35 to 44 age, living in seoul and gyeonggi-do. We excluded 5 of 91 items through content and item analysis and conducted exploratory factor analysis and eliminated 16 items which were under communality value .30. Next to, we removed 15 items which were under factor loading .30 and double loading with two or more factors and final inventory were composed to 40 items. internal reliability of total items was good as .941 and 3 sub-factors explained 42.82 percents of a total variance of inventory. Each factors were named as follows. First factor is a somatization, second factor is a anger, third factor is a negative emotion. There was a significant correlation between daily stress response and perceived stress and this result imply that criteria validity of daily stress response inventory was guaranteed
